A Christian Community in the Camp Setting

Located in the beautiful Nebraska Pine Ridge Forest in northwest Nebraska, Camp Norwesca hosts multiple summer camps for kids of any religious background. There’s nothing like the kind of community that develops at camp. We live, eat, play, and worship as a close-knit group. Camp is a safe place to be open about our faith and ask honest spiritual questions.
Surrounded by beautiful buttes, canyons, and pine trees, Camp Norwesca sits just south of Chadron State Park within the Nebraska National Forest. Campers will develop a greater appreciation for their environment and the beauty in nature.
The Camping Ministries of the United Methodist Church transform lives through Christian community. Our camps offer opportunities for intentional Christian Community through hosting retreats, reunions, community events, group activities, and summer camps for all ages.
We believe healthy, outdoor recreation has value in and of itself. Our approach to recreation helps campers to cooperate with others, manage their fears, build confidence, and learn new skills. Horse back riding, swimming, hiking, and sliding down our famous Super slide are just a few of our list of activities.

We’re looking for fun and responsible people who love God, kids, and the outdoors. While you are shouting silly songs, teaching campers how to roast the perfect marshmallow, and leading various exciting games, you will have a chance to love kids as Christ loves them, and that can be life changing for both you and your campers.

Before I came to Camp Norwesca, I was always grumpy and unsocial. Camp changed me. I made a lot of new friends and I learned how to see God in my life. Next year I am hoping to come to camp as a Counselor in Training.
