Meet the Staff
We are excited to introduce you to our amazing year round staff.
This great team is ready to ensure your camper has a
summer adventure that lasts forever.
Hello! My name is Brandi May. I am the New Director for Camp Norwesca. I was born in Omaha, NE and raised in South Central Nebraska. I attended college at the University of Nebraska at Kearney where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education K-8th Grade. I moved to the Chadron, NE area in the fall of 2017 when my husband became one of the Superintendents for Chadron State Park. Before we moved, we lived at Windmill State Recreation Area which is just East of Kearney, Nebraska.
I have had the pleasure of being apart of Camp Norwesca for the past four years; first as a part time office assistant while I was substitute teaching for the public schools. I then became the assistant director in the fall of 2020.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, baking, fishing, and gardening. When I am not at camp, you can probably find me sitting out in my gardens where my faithful Sheltie watches my every move or planning a trip to Florida where we like to escape the snow every year.
I attended Camp Carol Joy Holling (NLOM) throughout my childhood and into my teen years where I grew my passion for God and the outdoors. I have always had a strong connection with combining my beliefs and my love for the outdoors. I very excited for this opportunity to not only grow my faith within UMC and the Great Plains Conference, but to combine my passion for teaching, and the dedication I have of connecting God with my excitement for the outdoors. Camp Norwesca is where my next chapter begins, I for one, can not wait.
Hello! My name is Kaylie Mason. I was born in Oklahoma and lived most of my childhood in central Ohio. My family moved to Sidney, Nebraska when I was in seventh grade and I graduated from Sidney High School. I am now a junior at Chadron State College. I am completing an elementary education degree. I decided to come to school at Chadron State College because I love the area and the people who live here.
In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, going on hikes, listening to music, and cooking. I am excited to work at Camp Norwesca to be able to show children the love of Jesus and His beautiful creation of the outdoors. Throughout my childhood summer camp was my favorite part of summer. I think it is a great way to make new friendships and build a relationship with God.
